Dr. W.A. Harindra Champa

Fulbright Research Scholar

Dr. W. A. Harindra Champa obtained her BSc Special Degree in Agriculture with a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka (1995-1999) and M.Phil from the Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya Sri Lanka (2004-2007). She was awarded Commonwealth fellowship to pursue PhD degree in Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, Punjab, India (2011–2013). Her Academic and Research career begins in 2000 as a demonstrator (temporary) in the Department of Crop Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya. Then she joined the Institute of Postharvest Technology as a Research Scientist (2001-2013) and worked there as a Senior Research Scientist (2013-2017). After that she worked as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Animal and Food Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka for one year (2017-2018) and currently serving as a Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Livestock, Fisheries and Nutrition, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka and doing teaching, research and extension in the field of Food Crop and Postharvest Science. She is a member of the International Society of Horticultural Sciences (ISHS-94495) and a fellow member of the Institute of Food Science and Technology Sri Lanka (62/FM/IFSTSL). She has been awarded the Fulbright Advance Research and Lecturing Award 2023-2024 by US-SL Fulbright Commission.
